The world without colour is dead and gray. The colour has specific position in architecture and urban planning. These days, in most cities of the world colour used as the simplest and the most effective factor of vitality and applied as a symbol of connecting factor between environment and human. colour of cities can be seen in frontage, flooring, urban furniture, landscape, vehicles and even in people commuting everyday. In addition of expressing our feelings, the colour expresses the feeling of the city too. The colours can represent a city lively and happy or down and depressed. In addition, application of appropriate colours might lead to highlight the city beauties or hide the designing faults. By this description ,in this article we try to express the colours history and properties and of course we try to discuss the colour psychology and it’s application in cities. At last, by considering the culture and climate we try to reach the ‘the comprehensive design of colour in cities’ approach. رنگ همه چیز است، وقتی میگوییم همه چیز، یعنی بدون رنگ نمی توان چیزی را تصور کرد. دنیای بدون رنگ، دنیای مرده و خاکستری است. رنگ در معماری و شهرسازی جایگاه ویژه ای دارد. امروزه در بسیاری از شهرهای جهان بکارگیری مناسب رنگ به عنوان مظهری از پیوند بین انسان و محیط، ساده ترین و مؤثرترین عامل در جهت سرزندگی مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. رنگِ شهر را در نمای ساختمانها، کف سازی ها، مبلمان شهری، فضای سبز، وسایل نقلیه و حتی افرادی که در طول روز در شهر رفت و آمد دارند، می توانیم ببینیم. رنگ علاوه بر اینکه بیان احساس ماست، بیان احساس شهر هم هست؛ رنگها می توانند زندگی شهری را سرزنده و شاد یا غمگین و سرد نشان دهند. همچنین بکارگیری رنگهای مناسب باعث برجسته کردن زیبایی های شهر یا در جایی باعث پنهان سازی عیوب طراحی می شود. با این توصیف، در این مقاله سعی قصد داریم تا ضمن بیان تاریخچه و خواص رنگها به بحث روانشناسی رنگ و کاربرد آن در شهر بپردازیم و در نهایت شهر را به سمت و سوی راهکار "طرح جامع رنگ در شهر" با توجه به اقلیم و فرهنگ، سوق دهیم. https://jscw.icrc.ac.ir/article_76342_5b3bebc49a720773cc825bf07987e2b6.pdf
