Investigation of the effect of carbon nanotubes on properties of nanocomposites

Abstract

Recently application of nano technology in different kind of coatings has been developed rapidly. Using nanoparticles in organic coatings will result in improving their electrical and mechanical properties. Carbon nanotubesCNT, with their unique properties, are one of the best candidates to improve the organic coating properties like thermal and electrical conductivity. Great strength and very high aspect ratio of CNT are the main reasons for improvement of organic coatings properties. In this paper using CNT in more than 30 type of polymeric matrix such as epoxy, poly urethane, methyl methacrylate has been reviewed. Due to unique properties of CNT, it could improve the mechanical and electrical properties of the polymeric matrix.
