Abstract
General aspects of Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSC) including their general structure and specifications of different components as well as a review of recent work carried out concerning the substitution of organic solvents in DSCs with ionic liquids has been presented. Different ionic liquids used and their advantages compared with conventional organic solvents and different methods of modifications of ionic liquid performance in DSC systems have also been discussed.
