Abstract

The numerous benefits of inkjet printing have transformed this method into one of the most efficient printing methods. Considering the importance and the increasing use of this technique, it is very important to use an appropriate printing ink. The physical properties of the ink used in this printing method, directly affects the printability and the droplet forming mechanism. By controlling the rheological properties of the ink, droplet formation will be controlled. The ability to print fluids using the inverse of Z number, called the ohnesorge number, refers to the physical properties of the ink, including viscosity, surface tension and density. Also, the printable Z range for different fluids is determined by analyzing the dynamics of droplet formation.
