Abstract

In this study, coatings photo-degradation due to sunlight exposure studied and different approaches caused to protect against photo-degradation have been studied . Since conventional organic absorbers have some defects in this regard, this research has been focused on the improvement of photo chemical stability of coating by inorganic nanoparticles. Firstly, protection mechanisms of nano-particles including absorbing and scatternig of UV beams is described and then the effect of different types of nano-particles like, TiO_2, ZnO, CeO_2, Silica and carbon particles on coating’s photo-degradation are reviewed.
