Iranian handwoven carpets require innovation in coloration materials. The aim of this study was to produce wool fibers coated with phosphorescent pigments and to evaluate their applicability in handwoven carpets. The research methodology was experimental and multi-stage, focusing on the fixation of phosphorescent pigments using a styrene-acrylic resin. The physical properties and pigment stability after fixation onto wool fibers were investigated. Luminance intensity was measured using a spectroradiometer. Washing, light, and rubbing fastness properties were evaluated based on international ISO standards. Fiber impregnation resulted in effective pigment transfer and the formation of stable luminescence. The results indicated that the prepared material exhibited good light fastness; however, the luminescence intensity decreased by approximately 30% after washing. Dry and wet rubbing fastness tests showed reductions of 17% and 58% in luminescence intensity, respectively. Finally, a handwoven carpet sample was produced using phosphorescent wool fibers to assess practical performance. The findings demonstrated that the production of handwoven carpets using phosphorescent pigments fixed onto wool yarns with acceptable quality is feasible.
