[English]

Kamal al-Din Behzad, the most prominent Iranian miniaturist of the 9th and 10th centuries AH, in his painting "Constructing the Palace of Khawarnaq", offers a novel approach to the use of complementary colors and realistic spatial depiction while maintaining the traditional principles of the Herat School of painting. The central focus of this research is the structural study and color system analysis of the painting Constructing the Palace of Khawarnaq. The main research question is: What are the structural components of the painting Constructing the Palace of Khawarnaq, and how do they contribute to the narrative of the story. The primary objective is to identify and analyze the composition, especially the color scheme, and its influence on the overall structure and meaning of the artwork. The research employs a descriptive-analytical method based on structural analysis, concentrating on form, content, and composition. Findings demonstrate that Behzad, by using ochre as the dominant color combined with cool color tones like blue, creates visual balance and harmony. This color choice, beyond composing the unity of the artwork, reflects a philosophical and human-centered perspective on the theme; because the unity between the earth and the building is meaningfully linked to the idea of mortality and returning to the earth. This research aims to provide a different viewpoint on the artwork through the analysis of its color system.
